Two New Tram Lines Coming to Konya

While the tender process for the tram line between the City Hospital and OSB begins, most of the city will be covered with iron networks for projects including the Barış Caddesi Tram Line and the extension of the existing line to the City Hospital.

WORLD BANK WILL FINANCE

Konya’s future is being built on rail systems. In order to create an integrated public transportation network, two separate projects will be carried out to extend the existing line to Barış Street and then to the City Hospital. The project, which will be financed by the World Bank and under the responsibility of ILBANK and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, will be carried out by TÜMAŞ & ENCON joint venture.

TRAM ROUTE IS CLEAR

Barış Caddesi Tram Line, which is 16,5 km long, has 29 stations and includes a storage-maintenance and repair facility; It will pass through Fırat Street, Beyhekim Street, Barış Street, Güzeldere Street, Gaziveren Street and Hadimi Street. The second project, which includes the construction of a 1,35 kilometer extension tram line and two stations, includes the extension of the existing Courthouse Tram Line to the City Hospital.

36 WILL BE COMPLETED

The Peace Street Project is expected to start in the first days of the new year and be completed in 36 months and put into operation at the end of 2026 with the Defects Liability Period.

The project, which includes the extension of the existing line to the City Hospital, will be put into service in the summer of 2024. Barış Street Line will cover an area of ​​43 thousand 924 square meters, and the City Hospital Tram Extension Line will cover an area of ​​11 thousand 650 square meters.
