Turkey’s Turkcell continues its Heartfelt Projects, which it initiated to support the redevelopment of the disaster area. With Turkcell Academy training programs, the targets of providing training to 7 thousand people and providing employment to 1100 people are being achieved in stages.
Those who completed the classroom training within the scope of Turkcell’s Future Writers Program for university students received their certificates in Hatay. The education of university students will continue with internships and successful candidates will be employed in Turkcell and group companies.
In addition, the coding training program, which took place in the Technological Education Classes established by TÜBİSAD (Informatics Industrialists Association) with the contributions of Turkcell’s cloud-based game platform GAME+ brand, also graduated. Secondary and high school students, who successfully completed a total of 7 hours of training over 112 weekends at Jan and Suphi Beyluni Anatolian High School in Hatay’s Samandağ district and Muhtar Ahmet Yiğitoğlu Secondary School in Defne district, received their certificates from Turkcell administrators at the ceremony.
“We continue to provide qualified workforce to the country”
Turkcell General Manager Dr. gave information about the trainings and made a statement about the employment mobilization for the region. Ali Taha Koç said: “As Turkey’s Turkcell, we started an ‘Employment Mobilization’ for our disaster-affected citizens in the provinces affected by the earthquake and their first-degree relatives studying outside the region. In this context, we also shared that we plan to expand the training and development programs in the earthquake region with Turkcell Academy, employ 1100 people in the region and provide training to more than 7 thousand people. The first of our Game+ coding trainings, which we carried out in cooperation with TÜBİSAD as one of these programs, has been completed. We organized bootcamp programs for secondary school and high school students, as well as university students within the scope of the Future Writers Program, to support their development and ensure their employment. Our secondary school, high school and university students who successfully completed the programs received their certificates. We saw the energy in the eyes of our young people who could safely navigate the labyrinths of the cyber world, start writing code, and develop games. We are with our young people precisely because of this hope in their eyes. We will continue our work on issues such as increasing the professional skills of our people in earthquake zones and supporting their technical development. We continue to provide qualified workforce to the country with trainings such as software, software testing expertise, robotic coding, cloud technologies, sales and marketing, and make significant contributions to employment. “Those who complete their training in the projects carried out by Turkcell will have the opportunity to find employment in Turkcell, Paycell, Atmosware, Turkcell Global Bilgi and Turkcell Dealer Sales channels.”
The steps taken turned into good
With the “Step into the Future” project in which Turkcell employees took part, another charity project was implemented with the steps taken by more than a thousand Turkcell employees. The 120 million steps taken turned four village schools in the region into football, basketball and volleyball fields. Fields; It was built for Hatay Kırıkhan Çamsarı Primary School and Secondary School, Hatay Arsuz Gözcüler Primary School and Secondary School, Hatay İskenderun Bekbele Primary School and Kahramanmaraş Dulkadiroğlu Güzelyurt Secondary School. With the Step into the Future project, Turkcell is also working to donate books and build libraries to village schools in the future.
A friendly match was played between ‘Step into the Future’ volunteers consisting of Turkcell employees and Turkcell Sports Club Basketball team players and children, and balls were distributed to the children.
Support with heartfelt projects
In addition to employment for 1100 people, training for 7 thousand people was targeted.
Hatay Call and Vocational Training Center will be operational very soon.
Small businesses and entrepreneurial women, the driving force of the region, are supported by Paycell, Financell, Pasaj and İşTurkcell. Financell provides credit support for solar energy projects of commercial enterprises in the earthquake zone.
We are working to realize projects that will be good for local producers, SMEs, farmers and local tradesmen, step by step. Activities started with the spirit of mobilization continue by adding new ones.
