Transportation Support to Those in Need in Istanbul
Suspended Invoice, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s project that combines the tradition of cooperation with technology, also supports those in need in urban transportation. With the contributions of philanthropists, 500 TL is loaded onto the Istanbul cards of those in need, which they can use on buses, metro, ferries and trams. The budget that low-income people have to allocate, such as school and hospital transportation, remains in their pocket.
A total of 2020 million TL of aid was provided from 2023, when Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) started with the solidarity network Suspended Invoice, which is an example to the world, until December 126. The traditional tradition of cooperation was combined with technology, bringing together philanthropists and citizens in need in Turkey and around the world. Assistance was provided to those in need regardless of geographical location. The project, where the receiving hand does not see the giving hand, also supports those in need in urban transportation. 5 PACKAGES FOR KINDNESS
In Pending Invoice, those in need are identified through social examination. Once it is determined that the person is in real need, he/she can upload İGDAŞ and İSKİ invoices to Suspended Invoice. Family Support and Mother Baby Support Package for Families, university students; The Education Support Package and the Transportation Support Package are offered to those who have difficulty paying for urban transportation.
SUPPORT IN URBAN TRANSPORTATION
People who are determined to be in need as a result of the evaluation can benefit from the Transportation Support Package. With this support package, 500 TL support is provided to those in need. The support provided is directly deposited into the Istanbul card of the person in need and they are notified via SMS. To date, 15.576 Transportation Support Packages have been unloaded 227 times. 90.227 Transportation Support Packages created for people determined to be in need are waiting to be taken off the shelf.
