New Airport Terminal in Kayseri Will Serve 8 Million Passengers

AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, who made a statement during his inspections at the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building, said that the project was carried out by Metropolitan Mayor Dr. He thanked Memduh Büyükkılıç and all those who contributed. In his speech, Elitaş expressed his memories of the airport and the process and said, “Our Kayseri is a truly special province. Let it be our governors who contribute and work hard, the commanders of the airport here, the military venues. We see the period when this place had one flight per week, how the building next door was built, how the Kayseri Chamber of Industry and the Organized Industrial Zone made a sacrifice by saying ‘we pay for the empty seats’ in order to have two planes a week, but today, when we come to this point, the land has to be taken over and enlarged. The great contribution made by our Chief of General Staff, then our Minister of National Defense, and now our Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar, to the acquisition of this land during his term as Chief of General Staff, both Mr. Büyükkılıç and the then Mayor Özhaseki, “The great efforts they have made in planning, the unity of our deputies, our governor,” he said, adding that there is nothing that cannot be achieved as long as there is unity and solidarity.

Elitaş stated that the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were also very important in the works, and that Presidential Strategy and Budget President İbrahim Şenel supported the completion of the deficiencies whenever called upon in the construction of the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building in question, and said that he and Şenel He thanked everyone who contributed together.

AK Party Deputy Chairman Elitaş, who also made a statement about the high-speed train, stated that construction activities continue from 3 points from Yerköy to Kayseri and that the high-speed train is planned to start service towards the end of 2026. Elitaş also added that the high-speed train station will be brought to the existing train station. On the other hand, Elitaş stated that consultations were held on the construction of approximately 400 kilometers of highway, which costs around 100 million Euros to Kayseri, and shared that it is planned to make the section from the Bosphorus Bridge to the highway at the entrance of Kırşehir into 3 lanes until the highway is built.

Technical Coordinator Fatih Yıldırım stated that the project was revised and developed with Büyükkılıç’s efforts, and with these supports, a bellows and a parking lot were added, and the terminal was enlarged by 17 thousand square meters. Airport Technical Coordinator Fatih Yıldırım stated that Kayseri Airport used to have a closed area of ​​37 thousand square meters, and its latest version has reached a construction area of ​​90 thousand square meters.

Elitaş and Büyükkılıç, who toured the Kayseri Airport New Terminal Building, where the work has been completed, stated that the new terminal building will suit the city and serve a large passenger potential, and wished it to be auspicious.

AK Party Provincial Chairman Fatih Üzüm, Melikgazi Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu, Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar and AK Party provincial board members also attended the inspection visit.
