Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Stray Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Center, which opened its doors in Denizli 5 years ago on World Animal Protection Day, continues to serve dear friends in the comfort of a 5-star hotel. The facility, which was implemented by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in order to provide services for stray animals in more modern and comfortable conditions, is a first in Turkey in many aspects, from care to treatment, from training activities to free walking tracks and recreation areas. Many stray animals are adopted and found new homes in the facility, which is one of the largest in Turkey. Finally, the cat, whose right hind leg was surgically amputated at the facility, was adopted by Emel Özoduncu, who lives in Ankara, after treatment and care.
Thank you from animal lovers to the Metropolitan Municipality
Bilge Coşkan, a student at Pamukkale University, adopted a cat that had lost one eye and whose treatment and care had been completed at the facility, offering it a warm home. Coşkan said, “Not only animals, we also need them. “It is very gratifying to embrace and prioritize disabled dear friends. I would like to thank Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for providing us with this opportunity,” he said. PAU Hayat 21 and Denizli HAYTAP Representative Emre Karaca also said that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality cooperated with Pamukkale University on behalf of stray animals and in this sense, they also supported these studies to become more popular. He expressed his gratitude to Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for the work done in the exemplary facility. Volunteer local animal officer Fatma Kütük Baskin, who thanked Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for the care, treatment and neutering of the dear friends she adopted with the slogan “Don’t buy, adopt”, said, “I shared a post on social media for the adoption of a disabled cat. It made a lot of noise and there was demand from all over Turkey. Our cat will go to Ankara. We have dear friends with disabilities who will go to Izmir and Istanbul in the coming days. “I call on all animal lovers to come to this exemplary facility and offer their love to our dear friends.”
Disabled dear friends find warm homes
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Stray Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Center Veterinarian Elvan Alkaya explained that they are working to adopt dear friends together with local animal protection officers and PAU students. Stating that with the project of adopting disabled cats, a citizen in Ankara first adopted two disabled cats, and two animal-loving families living in the city center adopted two disabled cats, Alkaya said, “I would like to thank our local animal protection officers who contributed and constantly come here and share our stray animals in various media. Our facility is also open on Saturdays and Sundays, we welcome all our friends here. “On behalf of my institution, I would like to thank all our animal-loving friends who contributed to us,” he said.
Mayor Zolan: “Don’t buy, own”
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that they provided many opportunities for their dear friends to live more comfortably by providing care and treatment at the facility. Mayor Osman Zolan emphasized that they provide hope for disabled friends with the project of adopting disabled cats and said, “This world does not only belong to humans, they are our dear friends. As Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, we mobilize our resources for our dear friends. It is very important for us that our dear friends we host have a permanent, warm home. That’s why we say ‘don’t buy, adopt’. “I invite our citizens who have the opportunity to open a warm home for our dear friends, especially our disabled cats,” he said.
